1. Topographical survey:- The survey which is used for prepare topograhical map is known as topograhical map.

2.  Marine or Hydrograhical Survey:-  This type of survey is used for navigation purpose, Water supply, the body under water.

It is science of measuring all the factor beneath water which affect all the marine activity like dredging marine construction, offshore drilling.

City Survey :- It is the survey which is used to make and prepare road, sewer, bridge, water supply. It also include the population of city.

4. Astronomical survey:- It is not much difficult to understand. After digitalization, Google will do very well , even if you use before google map you have seen the astronomical map.

It is the survey which  is used to make astronomical map.
